OK so I am the first to admit that I am not the sharpest tool in the box, but this has me really puzzled and if anyone can help then please do!
On my dashboard it tells me how many followers I have, and this has gone up to 8 today (woo hoo!), however when I click followers to see who they are, it only shows me 7 - why?
Does this mean someone is following my blog who doesn't want me to know who they are?
I don't know if I like that idea!
I hope it isn't someone I know, I would like to think my privacy is respected!!
Or is Blogger just having an off day and for some reason isn't updating it even though I have tried logging in and out a couple of times over the past few hours.
If anyone has any ideas, please do let me know
Thanks!

I'm looking at yours now and it shows 7 followers. Maybe it needs to update overnight? Im not sure. I'll take another look tomorrow and let you know.
Thank you Sarah, when I view a post it shows 7 followers but then on my dashboard it shows 8, although I am now wondering if someone has maybe clicked to follow my blog twice without realising they had already started following it, if you follow that! I know I have gone into a blog and clicked to follow and then suddenly thought actually I am already following that one, so they then have me twice. Its a puzzle!
And today is says 8, must have just needed to update. x
Ha, my dashboard now says 9 though! But when I click in it says 8 again and only shows 8! Arggghhh. I did gain a new follower yesterday.
It possibly means that someone is following your blog but are remaining private. I know you can have that as a setting (you know which one I am so its not me).

That is what I am sligthly worried about as noticed you are given the option of following privately and worried it is t'other half - not so sure what to do, or how to find out!
When someone wants to follow your blog, Blogger asks them if they want to follow 'publicly' or 'anonymously'. I think perhaps you are only shown those who are following publicly but Blogger lists the total number of followers, if that makes sense. The same is happening to me - I think I have a few anonymous followers. Makes me feel a bit uncomfortable - why would anyone want to be anonymous?
On another note - thanks for your comment - I'd love for you to blog some of your social stories. I've got Carol Gray's book with examples but as you said they are rather long. Nipper is just beginning to read so would love some ideas for keeping the stories very simple.
I will be following your new blog and putting you on my blog list on Non-neurotypical Nipper too.
